#46 Prevention is Better than Cure: Better Marriages in ISKCON
Families are the building blocks of society and matrimonial stability is the glue that keeps families and communities together. Many religious groups don’t celebrate marriages without previous training. We should also institute a standard premarital training program in ISKCON that can prevent false expectations and divorces. Our (ISKCON’s) record of stability is quite poor in spite of Srila Prabhupada’s instructions and guidance on this topic, with ISKCON having gone through many trials and errors in this area. What did we do right? What should we consider? Attendees will learn the premarital training system we have developed and how to take advantage of materials and courses in order to benefit their communities.
