#49 Vaisnava Life Counseling: Supporting a Culture of Care in ISKCON
A practical workshop designed to train ISKCON communities’ leaders and those interested in establishing a support system based on healthy relationships with directives from our Vaisnava line and mainstream counseling. The course addresses ways to assist individuals, youth, families, foster community support and promote self-care. This is a concise version of the complete course “Vaisnava Life Counseling” (VLC) presenting a set of practical skills to support ISKCON devotees through effective principles of care, counseling techniques, communication skills and mediation models. It provides a practical framework to support individuals and congregations based on Srila Prabhupada’s position on caring for devotees. The seminar aims at learning from the issues and challenges (marital, parenting, emotional, addictions, disputes, etc.) that as a movement we have faced in the past (and may be still facing in the present).
