#58 Finding Our Mission in His Mission Helping Leaders and Followers be All We can be in the Hare Krishna Movement
In this seminar we’ll look at how to find our natural place in Lord Chaitanya’s movement to spread Krishna consciousness worldwide, with the help of senior Vaishnavas absorbed in Srila Prabhupada’s life, teachings, mood & mission. By the end of the seminar, students will be able to: (1) Explain the importance of finding and fulfilling one’s own duty in life. (2) Identify guides who can help us find our purpose. (3) Describe the mutual responsibilities of the guides and the guided. (4) Describe how finding our genuine calling requires purification and consultation. (5) Identify Srila Prabhupada as our foundational guide for finding our mission in his mission. Finding Our Mission helps us build a culture thoroughly grounded in serving the Vaishnavas. The more all of us feel fulfilled serving Krishna, the more we will attract everyone to serve the Lord.
Suresvara Dasa joined the Hare Krishna movement in 1970 and received 1st and 2nd initiations from Srila Prabhupada in 1971 & 1972. Over the years Suresvara’s service has centered around Srila Prabhupada’s books—studying them, distributing them, indexing them at the BBT, writing articles based on them, and now, teaching from them. Since 2011, with the encouragement of the SPT committee, “Srila Prabhupada’s Position,” Suresvara has been traveling the ISKCON world with the ten-part seminar series, “Srila Prabhupada, Our Founder-Acarya.” Part 7 of the series, “Finding Our Mission In His Mission,” is the seminar he is presenting at ILS 2018.
